What We Believe
1. The infallibility of the Scriptures
We Believe the Bible is God's Word and our handbook for life. The Bible is the inspired, and infallible Word of God. It is the divine and final authority for the Christian life. (2 Tim 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21; I Thess 2:13)
2. The One True Godhead
There is one God, the creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (John 1:1; John 1:14, John 16:28; John 1:18; John 15:26)
3. Sin and Salvation
Man, beginning with Adam, was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, which resulted in his spiritual death and separation from God. Only through belief (faith) in Jesus Christ as the Son of God that was sent to die and pay the penalty for sin (death) can we receive eternal life and a relationship with God. As a person makes the decision to believe in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and confesses the Lordship of Jesus in his/her life, he/she becomes "born again". (Rom. 10:9 &10; Gen.1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 3:23-26; Rom 5:12-21)
4. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for our sins, rose from the dead, and can change anyone who puts their trust in Him. Jesus Christ is the union of God and man. He is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all men. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father as our high priest and advocate. (Luke 1:26-27; Heb 12:2: 2 Cor 5:21; Acts 7:55; I John 2:1; John 3:7)
5. Baptism in Water/Communion
Water baptism by immersion is a symbolic act ordained by God to an outward example of the spiritual change a person goes through during salvation.
Communion is observed as instructed in the scriptures as a way of remembering the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ during His crucifixion in order to redeem mankind from sin. Water baptism and communion are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are not, however, to be confused with or regarded as a means of salvation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation.
(Matt 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; I Cor 11:24-28)
6. Ministry of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is here to give us strength and power to live each day. The present day ministry of the Holy Spirit is to comfort and guide the believer, with the purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ in the earth. During this age, He indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly living and service. Every believer can be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be empowered with any of the 9 gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12. (Acts 1:8; 2:4, 2:38-39, 10:44-46, 19:2-6; 1 Cor. 12:4-11)
John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” As believers, we can walk in the abundance of God’s blessings “if” we will only believe. "Without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 11:6) The Word tells us that the "just", those who have been justified by the blood of Jesus shall live by faith." (Romans 1:17) The redemptive work of Jesus not only provides salvation for the believer but also healing and prosperity for our spirit, soul, and body. We are redeemed from the curse of the law - poverty, sickness, oppression, and any other thing that prevents us from fulfilling His plan. Our lives can be prosperous and healthy, as our soul prospers in every realm as we walk in the light of this redemption by faith in God's Word. (Gal 3:13; 2 Peter 2:24; Matt 4:23-24; Ps 103:3; Acts 9:34, 3 John 1:2)
8. The Church
The universal church is composed of all those who are born again. Through the new birth, we are united together in the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and head of the church and has provided leadership for the local church through the ministry gifts, which only He can give. The church is the body of Christ with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. (Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Heb 12:23)
9. Rapture/Tribulation/Second Coming/Millennial Reign
At the end of this dispensation on earth, The Lord will come in the air and the Church (Believers) will be "caught up" with The Lord. After this there will be a Tribulation period of approximately seven years. During this time there will be severe plaques and God will attempt to turn man to Him. After this time Jesus will then come to the earth (Second Coming) to establish His physical kingdom and begin His thousand-year reign. Men will be judges and believers will spend eternity with Christ.
10. Miracles
We believe in miracles, and that they still happen today. (Luke 1:37)
11. Our Lives
We believe God wants us to make progress in every area of life. (3 John 2)
12. Return
We believe Jesus is coming back, and He's coming soon. (Acts 1:11)
